PHNOM PENH, April 16 (Xinhua) -- Cambodia had found no new cases of COVID-19 infections in the last four days, while two more patients had recovered, bringing the number of patients cured in the kingdom to 98, said a Ministry of Health statement released on Thursday.

The latest recovered patients are two French men aged 80 and 61 years old, the statement said, adding that they were discharged from the Khmer-Soviet Friendship Hospital on Wednesday.

"The recovery rate for COVID-19 patients in Cambodia stands at 80.33 percent with 98 out of 122 COVID-19 infected persons cured," the statement said.

It added that the remaining 24 patients have been receiving treatment at various designated hospitals.

Cambodian Health Minister Mam Bunheng on Wednesday asked the Labor Ministry to place garment workers, who took leave during the cancelled Khmer New Year (April 13-16), under self-quarantine for 14 days at their rented rooms before allowing them to resume work when they return from hometowns.

He said the move is to prevent the virus from spreading to garment factories.

Labor Ministry Spokesman Heng Sour said earlier this week that about 5 percent of the garment workers took emergency leave during the suspended New Year period.

Labor Minister Ith Samheng said last week that workers, who took leave on the occasion without permission, would be put under self-quarantine for 14 days without pay, while those going on leave with permission would be self-quarantined for 14 days with pay. Enditem
