MONROVIA, April 20 (Xinhua) -- The number of COVID-19 cases in Liberia has risen to 99, as health authorities in the country confirmed 19 new cases on Monday.

The National Public Health Institute of Liberia (NPHIL) attributed the increase in the number of cases to the ongoing contact tracing measure by local health officials.

So far, 489 contacts have been traced in the ongoing exercise by health officials, said the NPHIL.

Eight deaths have been recorded and seven other cases have recovered so far in the country, according to official data. Enditem
