SKOPJE, April 20 (Xinhua) -- The process to return to normal life in North Macedonia will start after May 1, Prime Minister Oliver Spasovski declared on social media on Monday.

Spasovski said that the government of North Macedonia is preparing a serious plan for the country to start the process of returning to normal life after the holiday of Labor Day.

"The process will not be fast, nor will happen immediately," Spasovski wrote.

The government decided on Saturday that the residents of the municipalities of Kumanovo, Prilep and Tetovo in North Macedonia must wear protective masks and gloves in public places, in markets and shops, as well as in outdoor and indoor areas as of Wednesday.

On Monday, health authorities in North Macedonia reported 18 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 1,225.

Health Minister Venko Filipce confirmed that the number of recovered patients reached 200 on Monday.
