Laos reports no increase in COVID-19 cases

VIENTIANE, April 27 (Xinhua) -- No new confirmed COVID-19 case was reported in Laos on Monday, with the total number of the infected cases remaining unchanged at 19.

Lao health officials tested 61 more suspected cases of the COVID-19 and all of them were tested negative, Director General of the Communicable Disease Control Department under the Lao Ministry of Health Rattanaxay Phetsavanh told a press conference in Lao capital Vientiane.

As of Monday, Laos tested 1,796 suspected cases with 19 cases tested positive, and seven patients have been discharged from hospital.

The seven patients who have been discharged from hospital included five cases in Vientiane and two cases in Luang Prabang province.

Another 11 infected cases are treated in designated hospital -- Mittaphab Hospital (Hospital 150) in Vientiane, and one case in provincial hospital in Luang Prabang.
