SINGAPORE -- Singapore's Ministry of Health (MOH) reported 690 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, bringing the total confirmed cases in the country to 15,641.

Of the newly confirmed cases, 11 were cases in the community, 19 were work permit holders residing outside dormitories, and 660 were work permit holders residing in dormitories. Of the total confirmed cases, 524 were work permit holders residing outside dormitories, and 13,354 were work permit holders residing in dormitories. (Singapore-COVID19)

PHNOM PENH -- Cambodia's law on the state of emergency was signed by Acting Head of State Samdech Say Chhum on Wednesday, going into effect immediately, according to a royal decree.

Endorsed by Chhum on behalf of King Norodom Sihamoni who has been in Beijing, capital of China for a routine medical checkup, the royal decree said the law was promulgated after it had been adopted by the National Assembly and the Senate as well as approved by the Constitutional Council. NEW DELHI -- India's federal health ministry Wednesday evening said one new death due to the COVID-19 and 455 new positive cases were reported since the morning across the country, taking the number of deaths to 1,008 and total cases to 31,787.

"As of 5:00 p.m. (local time) today, 1,008 deaths related to novel coronavirus have been recorded in the country," read the information released by the ministry. (India-COVID19)

PHNOM PENH -- The tourism ministers of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) agreed on Wednesday to strengthen tourism cooperation amid the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a joint statement.

HONG KONG -- The Office of the Commissioner of the Chinese Foreign Ministry in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) on Wednesday condemned some U.S. congressmen for interfering in Hong Kong affairs and China's internal affairs at large.

A spokesperson of the office said in a statement that those congressmen made unwarranted remarks on Hong Kong affairs in an open letter, distorting the Basic Law, condoning anti-China forces and undermining the rule of law in Hong Kong, and even calling for implementing the so-called Hong Kong Human Rights and Democracy Act. HONG KONG -- Financial Secretary of China's Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) government Paul Chan said Wednesday that the local economy will likely shrink four to seven percent year on year in 2020 due to prolonged impact from the COVID-19 epidemic.

DHAKA -- Bangladesh has registered a daily record of 641 COVID-19 cases over the last 24 hours, with the total number exceeding 7,000 as of Wednesday, official data showed.
