LA PAZ, April 29 (Xinhua) -- The lockdown in Bolivia will be extended until May 10, the leader of the country's interim government said on state TV Wednesday.
Jeanine Anez, in a televised message to the nation, also announced the decision to relax the stay-at-home rules in some parts of the country little affected by the coronavirus epidemic starting on May 11.
She said that the change of the lockdown measures will depend on the epidemic situation, adding that the health ministry will evaluate the development of the outbreak in each region every seven days.
Bolivia announced a total quarantine on March 21.
As of Wednesday, the Latin American country has registered 1,110 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 59 deaths from the disease, according to the data compiled by the Johns Hopkins University. Enditem
