Greece reports 13 new COVID-19 cases, two deaths in last 24 hours

ATHENS, May 8 (Xinhua) -- Greece's Health Ministry announced on Friday that 13 new COVID-19 cases and two deaths were recorded within the past 24 hours.

The total number of COVID-19 infections in the country now stands at 2,691 since Feb. 26, when the first case was registered and the death toll at 150.

Currently, 32 people were being treated in intensive care units, while 85 have been discharged from ICUs.

So far Greek authorities have conducted a total of 94,291 diagnostic tests in the country since the start of the outbreak.

As the lockdown imposed on March 23 to contain the spread of the virus was eased on May 4, Greece returns gradually to normalcy and seeks ways to restart the economy on local and international levels. Enditem
