Brunei reports no new COVID-19 cases for 6 straight days

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, May 13 (Xinhua) -- Brunei reported no new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday with the national tally of cases standing at 141, marking the sixth consecutive day without new cases since May 7.

According to Brunei's Ministry of Health, no more recoveries were recorded on Wednesday, maintaining the total number of recovered cases at 134. The number of active cases being treated at the National Isolation Center is still 6.

Two patients remain in critical condition. One of them requires Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) and respiratory assistance and one case only requires respiratory assistance. The rest are in a stable condition.

There has been one death resulting from the COVID-19 in Brunei.

The ministry added that so far 108 individuals are still undergoing quarantine and some 16,350 laboratory tests for COVID-19 have been conducted. Enditem
