Ukrainian pharmaceutical manufacturers to start clinical trials of COVID-19 drug

KIEV, May 13 (Xinhua) -- Five Ukrainian pharmaceutical manufacturers are to begin clinical trials of drugs that could potentially treat COVID-19, Ukrainian Health Minister Maksym Stepanov said on Wednesday.

The Ukrainian Ministry of Health had previously allowed the trial use of the drug Bioven as a potential coronavirus treatment in five hospitals in Ukraine.

A total of 16,425 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 439 deaths have been reported in Ukraine as of Wednesday, while 3,716 patients have recovered, according to the country's health ministry. Enitem
