LONDON, May 21 (Xinhua) -- British stocks decreased on Thursday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index down by 0.86 percent, or 51.91 points, to close at 6,015.25 points.
Intertek Group, a multinational assurance, inspection, product testing and certification company, soared 6.08 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. EasyJet and BT Group increased by 4.43 percent and 3.71 percent, respectively.
Whitbread, a British multinational hotel and restaurant company, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 13.44 percent.
