Aman said that three patients were released during the period from hospitals, bringing the total number of patients who have so far recovered to 383.

The official said that one patient succumbed to the disease while receiving treatment, bringing the total number of deaths to 51.

He said that so far 59,260 samples have been tested since the pandemic was reported in the country on March 13.

Aman added that from the 22 people who were tested positive in the last 24 hours, 17 are male while five are female.

Kenya has banned movements in and out of areas including Nairobi and Mombasa following the increases of cases.
