RABAT, May 25 (Xinhua) -- The Moroccan customs collected a record revenues of 11 billion U.S. dollars in 2019, the Customs Tax Administration said Monday.

This performance is mainly due to the rise of imports by two percent year on year to 52.12 billion dollars, the administration said in a report.

Meanwhile, the country's exports increased 2.4 percent year on year in 2019 to 29.9 billion dollars, according to the report.

The car industry led the exports in 2019, with a share of 27.3 percent, followed by agricultural and agri-food products with a share of 21.6 percent.

The pipeline that transports Algerian gas to Spain via Morocco brought revenues of 106 million dollars for the North African country in 2019, the report noted. Enditem
