Palestinian official calls for reconsidering current agreements with Israel

RAMALLAH, May 28 (Xinhua) -- A senior Palestinian official Thursday called on the countries in the world to reconsider all current agreements with Israel.
Saeb Erekat, secretary general of Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) Executive Committee, made the pledge in a statement issued at the end of a meeting held on Thursday with representatives of the European Union and diplomats from other countries.
He said that the Israeli plans "will drag the whole region into an endless and everlasting wave of violence."
Erekat also called on the international community "to hold Israel accountable for its violations that contradict the basics of the international law, as well as impose sanctions and boycott the Israeli settlements' products."
He also called on the international community to recognize an independent Palestinian state established on the Palestinian territories. Enditem
