ISTANBUL, May 29 (Xinhua) -- Turkey's Fatih drillship sailed off to the Black Sea from Istanbul on Friday to conduct new drilling activities in the region.
Fatih's deep drilling mission will start on July 15 in the Black Sea at a location called Tuna-1, Turkish Energy and Natural Resources Minister Fatih Donmez said at a ceremony at Istanbul's Haydarpasa port before the vessel's departure.
Donmez also noted that Turkey will begin oil exploration in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea within three to four months as part of an agreement with the Libyan government.
He said the Turkish Petroleum Corporation applied to Libya to carry out oil exploration in its licensed area in the Mediterranean. Enditem
