MADRID, May 30 (Xinhua) -- The teams in Spain's first and second divisions (Liga Santander and Liga SmartBank) will be able to begin collective training from Monday June 1, the Spanish Ministry of Health, Consumer Affairs and Social Services confirmed on Saturday.
The news means that teams will no longer have to work in groups of 14 and will be able to play full practice games in the run in to the return of the season, which is planned for June 11 starting with the Seville derby between Sevilla and Betis.
It is the final stage in a series of protocols, which saw players allowed to work on an individual basis in early May, before graduating to groups of 10 on May 18 and subsequently into groups of 14.
The Spanish Football League this week confirmed that the 11 remaining rounds of games of the 2029-2020 campaign will be played behind closed doors between June 11 and July 19, with a view to the 2020-2021 season beginning on September 12. Enditem
