Nikola Milutinov joins CSKA

MOSCOW, June 3 (Xinhua) -- CSKA Moscow announced the signing of a three-year contract with Serbian center Nikola Milutinov on Tuesday.

"After five years with Olympiacos, it was time for a new chapter in my basketball life," Milutinov was quoted by CSKA Moscow official website.

"So far in my career, all the decisions I've made were more or less difficult, but not this one. A club with great tradition, a president who lives for his team, a trophy-winning coach, a great organization, powerful and beautiful Moscow," The 25-year-old added.

Milutinov, who stands 2.13-meter-tall, has played for Olympiacos since 2015. He has won league titles in Serbia, Greece, and the ABA League. He has also represented Serbia at every junior level and eventually played for the senior team. Last year he represented the national team at the FIBA World Cup.

In the 2019-2020 season EuroLeague, which prematurely ended, Milutinov contributed 10.3 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game for Olympiacos.

"Playing for Olympiacos, a great team, under a great coaches, Nikola showed that he is one of the most significant big men in Europe," said CSKA Moscow head coach Dimitris Itoudis.

"When we talked, he noted that he has the highest motivation to defend CSKA colors, and to prove it to our fans." Itoudis said. Enditem
