SINGAPORE, June 3 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed higher on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) going up 3.4 percent, or 88.76 points, to close at 2,700.39.
A total of 1.94 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 2.51 billion Singapore dollars (about 1.78 billion U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers by 311 to 200.
The STI index went up 2.38 percent, or 60.77 points, to close at 2,611.63 Tuesday. Enditem
