U.S. crude oil production decreases last week: EIA

HOUSTON, June 3 (Xinhua) -- U.S. crude oil production decreased during the week ending May 29, U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) said Wednesday.

According to the EIA, U.S. crude oil production averaged 11.2 million barrels per day (b/d) last week, down by 200,000 b/d from the previous week and down by 1.2 million b/d from this time last year.

Oil prices rose on Wednesday after data showed a weekly drop in U.S. crude stockpiles.

The West Texas Intermediate for July delivery rose 48 cents to settle at 37.29 U.S. dollars a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange, while Brent crude for August delivery gained 22 cents to close at 39.79 dollars a barrel on the London ICE Futures Exchange. Enditem
