VIENNA -- The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries' (OPEC) daily basket price stood at 34.84 U.S. dollars a barrel on Thursday, compared with 35.46 dollars on Wednesday, according to OPEC Secretariat calculations released on Friday.

Also known as the OPEC reference basket of crude oil, the OPEC basket, a weighted average of oil prices from different OPEC members around the world, is used as an important benchmark for crude oil prices. (OPEC-Price)

LIMA -- Peru's President Martin Vizcarra on Thursday announced the second phrase of its economic reopening amid the country's ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, which registered 4,284 new cases of infection in the past 24 hours.

KAMPALA -- Uganda on Thursday unveiled a proposed economic stimulus package that will provide liquidity for private firms affected by the COVID-19-induced national lockdown.
