NEW DELHI -- India's federal health ministry Sunday morning said that 287 new deaths due to COVID-19 and an additional 9,971 positive cases were reported during the past 24 hours across the country, taking the death toll to 6,929 and total cases to 246,628.

BUENOS AIRES -- Health authorities began a "house-to-house" operation Saturday to search for close contacts of people diagnosed with the novel coronavirus disease in the capital city of Buenos Aires.

The program, "Strategic Testing Device for Coronavirus in Terrain of Argentina (DETECTAR)," began in the central neighborhood of Balvanera and will continue into the districts of Flores and Palermo, spokesmen for the Buenos Aires city government told Xinhua. (Argentina-Search-COVID-19)

CHICAGO -- An estimated 20,000 protesters showed up on Saturday for what is called the "Chicago March of Justice" in Chicago to demand justice for George Floyd.

CAPE TOWN -- The Western Cape province, South Africa's epicenter of the COVID-19 outbreak, said on Saturday that it is advertizing for 5,272 health workers amid a spike in confirmed cases.

WELLINGTON -- New Zealand reported no new case of COVID-19 for 16 consecutive days, said a statement of the Ministry of Health on Sunday.
