AMMAN, June 10 (Xinhua) -- Jordanian Minister of State for Media Affairs Amjad Adaileh said on Wednesday that the COVID-19 epidemic in the country remains under control.
However, the government will impose a full curfew on weekends if increasing cases are reported, Adaileh said on Twitter.
The Jordanian health ministry reported 18 new coronavirus cases on Wednesday, raising the total number in the country to 863.
Among the new cases were 12 from Amman and Ramtha as contacts with the recently confirmed patients, according to a ministry statement.
Meanwhile, six more patients have recovered from the virus, the statement said.
China has supported Jordan's fight against the pandemic. On May 31, Jordan and China signed a document under which China handed over a batch of medical supplies to the kingdom to help combat the novel coronavirus. Enditem
