BUCHAREST, June 16 (Xinhua) -- The Romanian government decided on Tuesday to extend the specific tax exemption for companies in the HoReCa (hotels, restaurants and cafes) industry for an additional period of 90 days.

The exemption followed the previous exemption period of 60 days, during which the country was in the state of emergency, Ionel Danca, head of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, said in a press statement.

He also announced another measure in favor of the HoReCa companies, which provides for the exemption of business operators that carry out activities on beaches from paying one of the installments of the administration fee.

On May 25, the cabinet announced a plan to grant funds to the tune of 1 billion euros (1.09 billion U.S. dollars) to companies hardest-hit by the pandemic, including HoReCa and transport companies. Enditem
