SRINAGAR, Indian-controlled Kashmir -- Five militants were killed Friday in a fierce gunfight with government forces in restive Indian-controlled Kashmir, police said.

ISTANBUL-- The Turkish coast guard on Friday rescued a total of 56 illegal immigrants off Turkey's Aegean coast, the state-run Anadolu agency reported.

ISLAMABAD -- A hand grenade attack near a government office in Pakistan's southern port city of Karachi killed one and wounded 10 others on Friday, police and local media said.

Police officials in the area told Xinhua that some unknown miscreants riding on a motorcycle hurled a hand grenade at the Ehsaas program center established to provide money assistance to poor people hit by the ongoing coronavirus crisis in the Liaquatabad area of Karachi, the provincial capital of south Sindh province.
