SARAJEVO, June 20 (Xinhua) -- Former Bosnia international footballer Avdija Vrsajevic announced on social media on Saturday that he had tested positive for COVID-19.

"I am currently in isolation as I have tested positive for COVID-19. Everything is under control, I'm feeling good, I haven't had any serious symptoms and I hope to recover quickly," said the defender, who plays for Turkish side Akhisarspor.

On the same day, Akhisarspor announced that Vrsajevic was one of 12 positive cases of COVID-19 at the club, including coach Yilmaz Vural, three players and eight club employees.

Vrsajevic, 34, was named in Bosnia's squad for their first FIFA World Cup appearance in 2014, where he scored his first goal for the national team in a 3-1 win against Iran in Bosnia's final group match at the tournament. Enditem
