TOKYO, June 22 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks were mixed Monday morning as investors buying back oversold issues trimmed earlier losses on concerns over the ongoing spread of the coronavirus on the global economic recovery.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average edged up 20.53 points, or 0.09 percent, from Friday to 22,499.32.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, dropped 0.63 points, or 0.04 percent, at 1,582.17.

Iron and steel stocks and pharmaceutical issues led notable gainers, while air transportation and land transportation issues comprised those that declined the most by the morning break. Enditem
