TOKYO, June 24 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks were mixed Wednesday morning, as U.S. shares advancing overnight supported buying, although gains were offset by the yen's appreciation against the U.S. dollar.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average added 27.58 points, or 0.12 percent, from Tuesday to 22,576.63.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, lost 4.64 points, or 0.29 percent, at 1,582.50.
Rubber product and precision instrument issues led gainers, while marine transportation, and oil and coal product issues comprised those that declined the most by the morning bell. Enditem
