DHAKA -- Bangladesh's tech guru on Wednesday hailed China's global navigation constellation achievement with the successful launch of a final BeiDou satellite.

Bangladeshi Post and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar told Xinhua that China has shown remarkable strides in various fields including science and technology, which could serve as a good example for Bangladesh and other countries. (Bangladesh-China-BeiDou)

SYDNEY -- Australia recorded its first COVID-19 death in over a month on Wednesday, that of a man in his 80s, amid an outbreak of cases in the State of Victoria.

NEW DELHI -- India's health ministry Wednesday morning reported 465 new deaths and 15,968 new COVID-19 cases during the past 24 hours across the country, taking the number of deaths to 14,476 and total cases to 456,183.

This is the biggest single day spike in terms of new COVID-19 cases in the country so far. According to ministry officials, so far 258,685 people have been discharged from hospitals after showing improvement. (India-Pandemic)

SHIBERGHAN, Afghanistan -- Six civilians were killed as a roadside bomb struck a car in Mardian district of the northern Jawzjan province on Tuesday, provincial government spokesman Abdul Maroof Azar said Wednesday.
