BEIJING, June 25 (Xinhua) -- The following are the updates on the global fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

DUBAI -- The United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Wednesday announced 450 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 46,133.

UAE's Ministry of Health and Prevention said in a statement the new cases of many nationalities are in a stable condition and receiving medical treatment.

RABAT -- Morocco on Wednesday reported 563 new COVID-19 cases, the biggest single-day increase so far in the North African country.

The total tally of infections in the country rose to 10,907, said Hind Ezzine, head of the Department of Epidemic Diseases of the Ministry of Health, in a regular press briefing.

ADEN, Yemen -- The total number of COVID-19 cases in Yemen's government-controlled provinces increased to 1,015 on Wednesday, as 23 new cases were confirmed.

The Yemeni Health Ministry said in a brief press statement that during the past 24 hours, the number of recoveries in the government-controlled areas increased to 379 since the outbreak of the novel coronavirus on April 10.

COLOMBO -- China on Wednesday donated its third batch of medical aid to Sri Lanka to help the country fight the COVID-19 virus which has to date infected over 2,000 people in the country and caused 11 deaths.

The medical aid, including 30,000 PCR testing kits, 30,000 disposable coveralls, 30,000 medical protective face masks, 600,000 surgical masks, and 30,000 medical goggles, was handed over by charge d'affaires of the Chinese Embassy to Sri Lanka Hu Wei to Sri Lanka's Minister of Health Pavithra Wanniarachchi at a ceremony in capital Colombo.

BERLIN -- New infections with COVID-19 in Germany remained above the previous weeks' average and increased by 587 within one day to 191,449, the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) announced on Wednesday.

Local COVID-19 outbreaks -- such as at Germany's largest meat processing company Toennies in the district of Guetersloh -- were causing nationwide figures to rise, according to the RKI.

BEIJING -- China's inactivated COVID-19 vaccine candidate has started its phase-3 clinical trial globally in the United Arab Emirates, according to the vaccine developer China National Biotec Group.

The clinical trial was officially initiated after a cooperation agreement was signed Tuesday, during a videoconference jointly held in Beijing, Wuhan and Abu Dhabi, the company said, adding that it is the first time that China's self-developed vaccine has carried out phase-3 clinical research internationally.

KIEV -- A total of 39,014 confirmed COVID-19 cases with 1,051 deaths have been reported in Ukraine as of Wednesday, while 17,409 patients have recovered, according to the country's health ministry.
