2nd LD-Writethru: 5.3-magnitude earthquake hits northwestern Iran, no casualties caused

TEHRAN, June 25 (Xinhua) -- The 5.3-magnitude earthquake which hit Qotor region in Iran's northwestern West Azarbaijan Province on Thursday has left no casualties, according to official IRNA news agency.

The Crisis Management of West Azarbaijan announced in a statement that following the earthquake relief teams have been dispatched to the region.

People of Khoy and the quake-hit region are advised to follow the safety guidelines by the crisis management teams, it said.

The quake took place at 14:33 p.m. local time (1003 GMT). The epicenter, at a depth of 10 km, was determined at 38.508 degrees north latitude and 44.153 degrees east longitude. Enditem
