BEIJING, June 26 (Xinhua) -- The following are the updates on the global fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

MINSK -- Belarus reported 331 new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Friday, taking its total to 60,713, according to the country's health ministry.

The country also reported 1,241 new recoveries in the past 24 hours, taking its total to 42,689, while 373 people with chronic diseases have died, including six over the past 24 hours, said the ministry.

NAIROBI -- Kenya Airways is projected to lose between 42-53 billion shillings (400-500 million U.S. dollars) in revenue in 2020 due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic that has grounded commercial passenger flights, an official said on Friday.

Kenya Airways CEO Allan Kilavuka told a virtual annual general meeting in Nairobi that since January to date, the airline has probably lost in excess of 100 million U.S. dollars.

CAPE TOWN -- The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) has delivered critical life-saving supplies to over 100 countries hit by the COVID-19 pandemic, the organization said on Friday.

With support from its partners, UNICEF was able to meet some of the most pressing needs and keep children and communities safe, the organization said in a statement emailed to Xinhua.

BEIRUT -- Lebanon's number of COVID-19 infections increased on Friday by 35 cases to 1,697 while the death toll remained unchanged at 33, the National News Agency reported.

Head of the Health Parliamentary Committee Issam Araji warned about a possible increase in infections after the arrival of Lebanese expats starting on July 1, the date of the re-opening of the airport.

MANILA -- Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte said on Friday that only "a cohesive and responsive" ASEAN (the Association of Southeast Asian Nations) can help Southeast Asia safely navigate out of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.

"Greater cooperation and connectivity are vital for our region to thrive under the new normal that COVID-19 imposes on all of us," Duterte told his counterparts via teleconference during the 36th ASEAN leaders' summit chaired by Vietnam.

DHAKA -- The number of confirmed COVID-19 infections in Bangladesh totaled over 130,000 while fatalities stood at 1,661 on Friday.

Senior Health Ministry official Nasima Sultana said in a briefing Friday afternoon that "3,868 new COVID-19 positive cases and 40 deaths including 31 men and 9 women were reported in the last 24 hours across Bangladesh."

TEHRAN -- Iran's confirmed novel coronavirus cases rose to 217,724 on Friday after an overnight registration of 2,628 new infections, according to official IRNA news agency.

During her daily briefing, Sima Sadat Lari, the spokeswoman for Iran's Ministry of Health and Medical Education, said out of the new cases, 1,356 were hospitalized. Enditem
