BELGRADE -- Serbian Defense Minister Aleksandar Vulin has tested positive for COVID-19, the Defense Ministry said Saturday in a press statement.

Vulin underwent a regular test after having contact with one of the state secretaries in the Ministry of Defense, who was recently hospitalized due to COVID-19 infection, said the statement. (Serbia-COVID-19-Defense minister)

WASHINGTON -- The European Union (EU) plans to bar travelers from the United States and some other countries where the COVID-19 outbreak has not been effectively controlled as the bloc will reopen in July, U.S. media reported Friday.

DUBLIN -- Fianna Fail leader Micheal Martin has been elected as new prime minister of Ireland in a vote held here on Saturday at a special meeting of the lower house of the Irish parliament.

DAMASCUS -- The Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) stormed on Saturday the government institutions in the northeastern province of Hasakah, state news agency SANA reported.
