SINGAPORE, June 29 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed lower on Monday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) going down 1.17 percent, or 30.41 points, to close at 2,574.1.
A total of 2.48 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.03 billion Singapore dollars (about 739.62 million U.S. dollars). Losers outnumbered gainers by 297 to 179.
The STI index went up 0.55 percent, or 14.36 points, to close at 2,604.51 last Friday. Enditem
