BERLIN, June 29 (Xinhua) -- Genetic biotech company Centogene, Germany's largest airline Lufthansa and airport operator Fraport launched first walk-in COVID-19 testing facility at Frankfurt Airport in Germany on Monday.

Until the end of July 2021, passengers flying to or from Frankfurt Airport with Lufthansa would be able to carry out the test at a sampling center located near the main terminal, according to Centogene. The test could either be completed the day before traveling or with a fast track solution the same day before departure.

"All results are delivered to the passenger via a secure digital platform" and would be connected to their ticket, according to Centogene.

"By opening the test center, we are offering our guests a comfortable opportunity to test themselves for flights abroad or a stay in Germany to avoid quarantine," said Bjoern Becker, senior director product management ground and digital services at Lufthansa Group. Enditem
