OSLO -- Norwegian Air announced on Monday that it has cancelled orders for 97 Boeing aircraft and will claim compensation from the U.S. plane manufacturer for the grounding of the 737 MAX and for 787 engine troubles.

The airline said it cancelled 92 of the 737 MAX jets, five 787 Dreamliners and the commercial services contract related to both fleets, and has "filed a legal claim seeking the return of pre-delivery payments related to the aircraft and compensation for the company's losses." WASHINGTON -- The U.S. Treasury Department announced Monday that it won't delay the tax-filing deadline for a second time, encouraging taxpayers to file their taxes by July 15 or request an extension if more time is needed.

As part of the efforts to blunt the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said in late March that the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) is extending the federal income tax filing deadline for 2019 from April 15 to July 15. (US-Tax-Deadline)

KIGALI -- Rwanda on Monday reported 101 new confirmed COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours, a record single-day increase of more than 100 cases in the central African country.

TRIPOLI -- The International Organization for Migration (IOM) said on Monday that more than 600 illegal immigrants have been rescued off the Libyan coast in the past week.
