TOKYO, July 3 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks advanced Friday morning, as Wall Street's overnight advance on solid U.S. payroll data for June and improving unemployment figures bolstered investor sentiment here and raised hopes for the global economic recovery from the pandemic.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average gained 74.37 points, or 0.34 percent, from Thursday to 22,220.33.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, added 2.19 points, or 0.14 percent, at 1,544.95.
Miscellaneous product, precision instrument, and information and communication issues led notable gainers by the morning break. Enditem
