SINGAPORE, July 3 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed higher on Friday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) going up 0.62 percent, or 16.25 points, to close at 2,652.94.
A total of 1.75 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 931.4 million Singapore dollars (about 667.57 million U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers by 249 to 168.
The STI index went up 1.02 percent, or 26.52 points, to close at 2,636.69 on Thursday. Enditem
