LONDON, July 3 (Xinhua) -- British stocks decreased on Friday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index down by 1.33 percent, or 83.06 points, to close at 6,157.30 points.

Whitbread, a multinational hotel and restaurant company, soared 1.62 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Fresnillo and Just Eat Takeaway increased by 1.42 percent and 1.32 percent, respectively.

Rolls-Royce Holdings, a British-based engineering company, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 10.02 percent.
