LISBON -- Portuguese Prime Minister Antonio Costa said Saturday that the highest priority of his government at the moment is "to recover the economy" of Portugal, but it will be "a long way."

TRIPOLI -- The British embassy in Libya on Saturday expressed concern about the ongoing oil blockade and foreign interference in Libyan oil fields.

"The oil blockade has cost Libya over 6 billion U.S. dollars since January, with negative economic consequences for the Libyan people. The blockade has also resulted in damage to Libya's oil infrastructure," the embassy said in a statement. (Libya-UK-Oil)

BEIJING -- China's privately offered funds reached 14.08 trillion yuan (about 1.99 trillion U.S. dollars) by the end of 2019, industry association data showed.

The figure was up 1.38 trillion yuan, or 10.87 percent, from the end of 2018, according to the Asset Management Association of China (AMAC).

By the end of December, the number of registered privately offered funds reached 81,710, rising 9.47 percent from the end of 2018, according to the AMAC.

BANGKOK -- One-third of Thailand's population, accounting for no less than 20 million Thais, is forecast to take leisure trips within the country during the second half of this year, said an executive academic on Sunday.

The number of domestic tourists will largely increase to no less than one-third of the population with cash flows throughout the country being forecast to amount up to 50 billion baht (about 1.6 billion U.S. dollars), according to Thanawat Pholvichai, rector of the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce.
