ABUJA -- Twenty-one people were declared missing on Sunday after a boat capsized in the Benue River, a major tributary in central Nigeria, said the police.

Benue police spokeswoman Catherine Anene told Xinhua that two others were rescued by the marine police who immediately embarked on a rescue mission. (Nigeria-Accident)

BELGRADE -- The coalition around the ruling Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) won 60.65 percent of votes in the country's parliamentary election, read the final report of the Republic Electoral Commission (RIK) published on Sunday.

The party led by Aleksandar Vucic, president of Serbia, thus won 188 seats in the 250-seat parliament, followed by the coalition around their current ruling partner Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS), with 10.38 percent of votes and 32 mandates. (Serbia-Election)

DUBAI -- The United Arab Emirates (UAE) announced a broad government reshuffle on Sunday, merging several ministries and departments and appointing new economy and industry ministers.

CHICAGO -- At least 17 people were killed and 63 others injured in Chicago over the Independence Day holiday weekend as a result of gun violence.

The 17 killed included two children, one is a 7-year-old girl and the other a 14-year-old boy.

This is the third week in a row that involved the death of a young child. A 20-month-old boy and a 10-year-old girl were killed in separate shootings last weekend; and a week earlier, five children were fatally shot, including a 3-year-old boy, Chicago Tribune reported Sunday.
