SINGAPORE, July 7 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed lower on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) going down 1.05 percent, or 28.19 points, to close at 2,661.42.
A total of 2.27 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.24 billion Singapore dollars (about 888.32 million U.S. dollars). Losers outnumbered Gainers by 302 to 179.
The STI index went up 1.38 percent, or 36.67 points, to close at 2,689.61 on Monday. Enditem
