SINGAPORE, July 8 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed higher on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) going up 0.3 percent, or 8.07 points, to close at 2,669.49.
A total of 2.03 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.04 billion Singapore dollars (about 745.15 million U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers by 255 to 186.
The STI index went down 1.05 percent, or 28.19 points, to close at 2,661.42 on Tuesday. Enditem
