New Zealand reports 2 new cases of COVID-19

WELLINGTON, July 10 (Xinhua) -- New Zealand reported two new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, bringing the number of active cases of COVID-19 in the country to 23, all in managed isolation or quarantine facilities, according to the Ministry of Health.

It has been 70 days since the last case of COVID-19 was acquired locally from an unknown source, said a ministry statement.

Friday's newly reported cases brought the total number of confirmed cases to 1,192, which was the number reported to the World Health Organization, it said.

There were three cases considered to have recovered from COVID-19, which brought the total number of active cases to 23, according to the ministry.

There is no one in New Zealand receiving hospital-level care for COVID-19.

The number of COVID-19 related deaths in New Zealand was 22, it said. Enditem
