HOUSTON, July 10 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. Producer Price Index (PPI) for final demand fell 0.2 percent in June, seasonally adjusted, the U.S. Department of Labor said Friday.
On an unadjusted basis, the final demand index moved down 0.8 percent for the 12 months ended in June. Final demand prices rose 0.4 percent in May and fell 1.3 percent in April.
In June, most of the increase in the final demand index can be traced to a 0.3-percent decline in prices for final demand services. In contrast, the index for final demand goods rose 0.2 percent.
Prices for final demand less foods, energy, and trade services advanced 0.3 percent in June, the largest increase since a 0.3-percent rise in January. For the 12 months ended in June, the index for final demand less foods, energy, and trade services edged down 0.1 percent. Enditem
