ISTANBUL, July 13 (Xinhua) -- At least four people were killed in flash floods in Turkey's northeastern province of Artvin, local Ihlas news agency reported on Monday.
The region has been badly affected by heavy rainfall, which caused flash floods and landslide since Sunday evening, said the report.
The local authorities announced that the bodies of three people from the same family were found trapped inside a vehicle earlier in the day, Ihlas added.
A video aired by the NTV broadcaster showed the car of the family drifting on a flooded road before it was trapped in deadly mud.
The Artvin Governor Yilmaz Doruk said an employee working for the construction of a dam in the Yusufeli district was also killed in the floods.
A highway, which connects Artvin with the nearby province of Erzurum is currently blocked due to the floods. Enditem
