Tunisia, Algeria call for immediate cease-fire, political dialogue in Libya

TUNIS, July 13 (Xinhua) -- Tunisian President Kais Saied met with visiting Algerian Foreign Minister Sabri Boukadoum to discuss ways to strengthen "the distinguished relations between Tunisia and Algeria in all areas," said the presidency on Monday.
The meeting was also an opportunity to address the situation in the region, in particular in Libya, said a presidency statement.
The two officials stressed the importance of continuing joint coordination at all levels in order to stop the bloodshed in Libya and help it to restore peace.
They urged an immediate cease-fire and political solution based on negotiations in order to overcome the crisis.
"The Libyan issue is a matter of national security and a duty demanded by common destiny and good neighborliness," the presidency quoted Boukadoum as saying. Enditem
