WASHINGTON -- The U.S. government has rescinded a new rule that could have denied international students their stay in the country if they only attend online courses in the coming fall semester, a federal judge in Boston, Massachusetts said Tuesday.

Judge Allison Burroughs, who presided over a hearing Tuesday on a lawsuit filed last week by Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) against the federal directive, said at the start of the hearing that the government and the universities reached a settlement, under which "both the policy directive and the frequently asked questions would not be enforced anyplace." WARSAW -- Three people died and seven were injured in a road accident on Tuesday in northern Poland after a coach crashed into a tree following a collision with a passenger car.

According to the Polish Press Agency, the coach was carrying 31 passengers, who work at a production firm of conserved fish based in Pomerania, the province where the tragedy occurred. (Poland-Road Accident-Toll)

ISLAMABAD -- Pakistan's army said Tuesday night that terrorists targeted security personnel in the country's southwestern Balochistan province and killed three security personnel.

BANGKOK -- A Thai army officer was on Tuesday killed in a bomb blast in Thailand's restive southern province of Pattani, said Maj-General Piyapong Wongchan, Commander of Pattani Special Task Force.
