BUENOS AIRES, July 16 (Xinhua) -- Paraguay international winger Cecilio Dominguez is set to leave Independiente, just 18 months after joining the Argentinian club from Mexican giants America.
Independiente sporting director Jorge Burruchaga said Dominguez had made clear his intention to leave, without providing details.
"Cecilio told me that he doesn't want to continue playing at Independiente," Burruchaga told Argentinian sports television channel TyC Sports.
"I explained to him that, if that was the case, it was no longer my responsibility to speak to him because it was a matter for the lawyers to deal with," added the former forward, who was a part of the Argentina team that won the 1986 World Cup in Mexico.
Dominguez has played 42 matches across all competitions for Independiente and is contracted to the club until June 2023.
The 25-year-old has been capped 11 times for Paraguay since making his international debut in 2013. Enditem
