German shares edge up Friday

FRANKFURT, July 17 (Xinhua) -- German stocks edged up on Friday, with the benchmark DAX index up 44.64 points, or 0.35 percent, to close at 12,919.61 points.

Automotive manufacturer Daimler won the most among the blue chips, with its shares up 4.42 percent. Semiconductor manufacturer Infineon Technologies and renal dialysis equipment supplier Fresenius Medical rose by 2.61 percent and 2.28 percent respectively.

Global internet technology and financial services provider Wirecard lost the most among the blue chips, by falling 5.66 percent. Aircraft engine manufacturer MTU Aero and insurance and financial services company Allianz went down by 1.43 percent and 0.98 percent respectively.

Multinational software corporation SAP was the most-traded share with a turnover of 310.2 million euros (354.5 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
