TRIPOLI -- The United Nations Higher Commission of Refugees (UNHCR) on Monday said that 76 refugees have been rescued off Libya's western coast.
"Yesterday evening, 76 refugees and migrants were brought back to Al Khoms (western Libya) after being intercepted at sea," UNHCR tweeted. (Libya-Migrants-Rescue)

DAMASCUS -- The Syrian air defenses responded to an Israeli missile attack over the capital Damascus on Monday evening, state news agency SANA reported.
The Israeli warplanes launched their attack from over the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights.
The air defense missiles were seen in the sky over Damascus chasing after the Israeli missile strike as people heard explosions around the capital. (Syria-Israel-Missile Attack)

CAIRO -- Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi and his U.S. counterpart Donald Trump discussed during a phone conversation on Monday the recent developments in the war-torn Libya.
During the phone call, Sisi stressed Egypt's strategic stance towards the Libyan issue, which aims at "preserving the country's national institutions and preventing further deterioration of the security conditions by illegal foreign interventions," Egyptian Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady said in a statement. ULAN BATOR -- Mongolian police have seized a total of 109 dead marmots so far this year, which could have spread the bubonic plague, the country's National Police Agency (NPA) said Monday.
The dead marmots were found in 20 vehicles heading to the capital city of Ulan Bator, the NPA said in a statement. (Mongolia-Marmot) Enditem
