FRANKFURT, July 22 (Xinhua) -- German stocks edged down on Wednesday, with the benchmark DAX index down 67.58 points, or 0.51 percent, to close at 13,104.25 points.
Multinational chemical and pharmaceutical company Bayer lost 2.82 percent, the top loser among the blue chips, followed by pharmaceutical company Merck and automotive supplier Continental, which lost 2.67 percent and 2.00 percent respectively.
Chemical group BASF gained 1.09 percent, becoming the top gainer. European health care company Fresenius SE and marketplace organizer for the trading of shares and securities Deutsche Boerse group advanced 0.95 percent and 0.75 percent respectively.
German insurance and financial services company Allianz was the most traded share with a turnover of 337.02 million euros (385.7 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
